Ever thought about being a tourist in your own city? I sure did, thanks to GreetHer! Here’s a glimpse of my adventure in Washington, D.C.
Here’s a glimpse of my adventure in Washington, D.C. from February 2025.
If you’re looking for a winter escape, the U.S. Botanic Garden is the perfect oasis! This tropical paradise, nestled right in the heart of the city, is a must-visit—and the best part? It’s completely free!
Next on my journey was one of my absolute favorites: the National Gallery of Art. The artwork is breathtaking, but honestly, the building itself is a masterpiece worth admiring… here is a picture of my infront of one of my fav paintings.
From there, I made my way to the Old Post Office Pavilion, where I experienced one of the best views in D.C. This gem has been open to the public since 1983 and is now managed by the National Park Service. Just look at this stunning 360-degree view!
Everything I explored that day was free of charge, making it an ideal adventure for both visitors and locals. However, please note that there is a fee to book your GreetHer. I was fortunate to receive this experience as a gift for winning a giveaway, but let me be clear: I would happily book them again. It’s a fantastic way to discover the city while supporting women-owned businesses along the way.
SO here is my Washington D.C. recap:
- Timeframe: 12 PM – 2:30 PM
- Transportation: Metro the Orange Line (Vienna – Federal Center SW, about 40 minutes, 14 stops)
- Cost of Transportation: SmartTrip card, $6.75 each way—so a total of $13.50.
My Planned Itinerary provided by my GreetHer:
- United States Botanic Garden: A fantastic collection of plants from all around the country—an enchanted escape during the winter.
- National Gallery of Art: One of my top picks, not just for the incredible art but also for the beautiful architecture.
- Old Post Office Pavilion: Straight to the observation deck for breathtaking views! Opened to the public in 1983 and now run by the National Park Service, it offers a sweeping 360-degree panorama of the city.
